Elan Make-up Studio's Tips from the Experts

  1. Remember to wear a button down shirt on the day of your hair or makeup services.  It is virtually impossible to pull a tight T-shirt over a pinned in veil in your beautiful up-do without destroying the creation.
  2. When planning your hairstyle remember your veil design.  If it has many layers of tuling, will that elaborate hair design be seen under all the layers?  If you have thick, long hair and want it up, and your veil is a tight bun wrap design, is it going to all fit in the headpiece or can it be cut and redesigned to accommodate your dream hairstyle?
  3. Remember to keep your hair and makeup as classic as possible so your photos will remain timeless.  This is why our grandparents wedding photos still look so breathtaking and bridal portraits shot in the 80's with heavy blue eyeliner, big permed hair, and puffy sleeved dresses look just like they were shot in 1984.
  4. You still want to look like yourself - only a more exquisite version.  Now is not the time to create a new look for yourself.  Remember to have at least one practice run with your hair and makeup stylists so you can be assured you will be the beautiful bride you have always envisioned.
  5. When deciding on whether to hire a makeup artist or do it yourself, ask this question: How long will my makeup last after I've cried, drank, ate, and danced the night away? Professional makeup artists who specialize in bridal makeup will have the primers and sealers needed to maintain your look from start to finish.
