Elan Make-up Studio's Tips from the Experts

  1. Remember not to over-do your look.  Emphasize one feature at a time.  If you play up your eyes with dramatic intensity and then add red lips to it, you will look like you have too much makeup on.
  2. Do not get any chemical services done the week of your wedding.  This includes highlights, facials, eyebrow waxing.  What if something went wrong or your face broke out due to the facial pulling the impurities to the skin's surface and you broke out?
  3. If you do decide to do your makeup yourself on your special day, remember perfect looking skin is the most important aspect of bridal makeup.  If you do not normally wear foundation, it is a great idea to purchase one that has been custom blended or matched for your skin tone and you learn how to apply it correctly.  You want to get the needed coverage without it looking heavy or mask-like.
  4. When designing your makeup colors for your wedding, you will need to take into consideration the colors of the bridesmaids dresses and your bouquet in addition to your normal makeup palette.  If you normally wear a chocolate brown lipstick and the bridesmaids dresses are lavender and your flowers are a spring bouquet, your makeup choices will have to be slightly altered so everything looks harmonious in the photos and when you are walking down the aisle.
